Today’s Tip:

Make sure the action items on your homepage are visible at a quick glance. That means all news and event titles should be noticeable if you look at your homepage and blur your eyes. If the action items don’t call attention to the user in the first 10 seconds of a page visit it is likely they are not going to click on them.

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

Site Scores:

Site Visual Information Code Overall
Yeshiva University – Cordozo School of Law 92 87 62 (241/300) 80% B-

Today’s Tip:

Use headers (h1-h6) to visually break up content. Make sure they are prominent enough so a user scanning your page in the first 1-2 seconds notices them and has a spot for their eyes to rest. Make sure there is enough color contrast between the header text and the background color so the user does not have to work at reading the headings. The easier the text is the read the higher likelyhood of the user actually reading and engaging with your content.
