Make sure you are only transferring the little bit of information that is absolutely required over the wire. This will make sure your web pages load quickly. Even if a user is not 100% interested in the content as long as they know they can bounce around your web pages quickly they will click on more content just because they know they can get back quickly. If a prospective student is looking at multiple schools what do you think they are doing while waiting for your pages to load? I suspect they have 4-5 other schools open in other tabs and they are browsing those schools. Keep your pages light and keep those eye balls on your site.
